So Kids Growing Up Is Not So Bad...

I know my last post was a little sad, but today God has shown me the PLUS side of children growing up, because as I type this, Wesley is doing the breakfast dishes! SWEET!

I had a momentary freak out with the baby teeth incident, but when I really think about it, it's kinda cool to watch them become more independent, and learn new things. I'll have to admit, yesterday I was crazy enough to even think about having another one. But today things are back into perspective!

Yeah, I don't want diaper duty, or midnight feeding duty again. I love being able to hop in the car and just go now! Life is good, enjoy your kids and celebrate each stage they go through in life, even the baby teeth.

Mixed Emotions

So Audrey comes in my room this morning to tell me that she can't get a piece of apple out from between her teeth. I told her to use her flosser, and just wiggle it out. Then about two seconds later, I hear Wesley scream "MOM!!! That's not an apple! Audrey is getting a new tooth!" What?! She still has her baby tooth?! But low and behold, there it is, a brand new "adult tooth" popping in right behind her baby teeth.
I know this seems like no big deal to everyone else, but it is really hitting me BIG time now that she is growing up. We were at the dentist just last week, and he told me those teeth were about to come through and her baby teeth would be gone soon, but I didn't expect it to be a WEEK later!
Now I can't help but fast forward to eight months from now to the first day of kindergarten. If I'm struggling with baby teeth, what am I going to be like when that day comes? And not to mention, I kinda wanted her to have ALL of her baby teeth in her mouth for her kindergarten pictures. :-(
Oh, well. She's gotta grow up sometime, but so soon really?! Thank you God for her baby years, we are looking forward (but not too much!) to kindergarten with her! I can't wait to have the day to myself (I don't remember what that's like!), but I'm going to miss her too!!!

First Post of the New Year...

Yes I am aware that it is January 16th... not quite New Years but still January!

Christmas was GREAT! We got to spend some time with my side of the family in Austin and in Kerville/Junction with Dad. Wesley got a 22 from Santa (he knows about the jolly big man now because he looked it up in the dictionary) and Audrey got a "heesil" (easel). We visited with Paw Paw and Ya Ya Christmas Eve where Wes got a much anticipated Nintendo DS, and Audrey received an American Idol Dance Dance Revolution Game, and then came home.

The kids were up at 8:00, because we told them that they could not bother us until then! We heard them giggling at 7:45 am, and at 7:59, they were calling our names. I love Christmas morning. Even though Wes is now 9 years old, he reminds me of his little 3 year old self on Christmas morning.

We went to Ganma's (my mom) house after we opened presents at home for Christmas dinner. Uncle Bo and Aunt Charlene were there, along with Karl, K.K. and her husband, Grossemama and Granddaddy my sister's Allie and La (Lauren) and her boyfriend Jeff. The kids got a trampoline from their Aunts, and almost Uncle. (Matt and myself have enjoyed the trampoline almost as much as the kids)

After spending a few days with the Austin clan, we then went to Junction, to spend a few days with Dad. Dad got me and Ipod! I was totally shocked, and Matt got me a docking station to go with it! So sweet, and I totally wasn't expecting it at all! We came back to Austin for New Year's where Audrey came down with a fever at 7:30 pm. That lasted for three days, but I am thanking God that that was all it was!

Now we are home, and FINALLY getting back into a normal routine. And I have finally found some time to blog! Check my facebook or myspace for pics. I'm having trouble uploading in here lately.

Love you all, Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!
